You would probably think it is Q. Apparently, it is not correct. I tried to place one of those invis Arans in X 347 and I loaded it with 2K of Kerris. As I suspected, Aran didn’t get destroyed because of that invisibility bug and slowly proceeded to the center of the sector to become an expensive satellite there.
Then I decided to give Kerris a try and dropped 31 of them ordering to attack enemies. Before the batteries ran out three Q were gone with NOT A SINGLE LOSS of kerris. Still 31 of them were flying. The small loss came when they started picking up LX fighters but then just the batteries ran out.
A while back someone posted up a log showing some M2 or other being destroyed OOS by a Kestrel. Same deal. There is, as far as I can tell, some degree of ‚avoidance‘ calculation done in OOS combat, and it only stands to reason that the smaller and faster the ship, the more ‚avoid y‘ it will be. Compound that 31 times,
tag in 31x 2k damage per hit, and things become a lot less ‚holy crap those things rock!‘ and a lot more ‚holy crap, OOS really is broken‘ when you realize that the Q can only even target 1/31st of the firepower directed at it.
The drones are just plain nasty oos. MkII or keris. I’ve been using them to do protect station missions. These missions spawn some fighters and a m6 or two in the sector with the station that needs protecting. They also spawn around 30 M6’s (high combat rank) on the other side of the gate closest to the station that needs protecting. I parked a raptor where this cloud of m6’s spawn, launched 100 keris and 100 mkII drones. Used the broadcast to all drones command to have them attack all enemies.
I have had 2 Boreas armed with PPCs front/sides and FAA on the top/bottom/tail trying to kill a single Pirate Disco in the US next to Unholy Decent for almost 30 in game hours now in OOS. The Disco is attacking them and they are set to attack it. and that’s before you consider most wasps don’t come armed with flamethrowers. Hasn’t always been a random chance to miss? Maybe some ships have inherently low „accuracy“ or something?NUKLEAR SLUG wrote: A wasp can sting you and that just hurts, a hundred stings can be fatal. and that’s before you consider most wasps don’t come armed with flamethrowers.
